Description
This listing is for a live 1-hour phone call with me! Do you have dreams of turning your creations into a profitable business? Are you overwhelmed by all the information and options out there when you start researching this sort of thing? I CAN HELP! My name is Becky, and I’m an artist and illustrator. I manufacture my own line of products, and I’ve been doing so since 2011. I’m self-taught and didn’t go to art school. I have 2 kids that I’ve raised alongside growing my business. I wholesale with 100’s of shops worldwide. I run a small brick and mortar gallery. I license my art with other companies. I do commissions for clients and other small businesses. I regularly design new products and find the best ways to have them made. I maintain a painting and ceramics practice. I’ve been selling and marketing my art for 13+ years, and during this time I’ve learned a thing or two. I’d love to share it with you!
HOW DID I FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO ALL THIS? Years of trial and error and following the breadcrumbs. Pitching myself, friending industry experts, traveling to events, asking lots of questions, making lots of mistakes, digging deep into an art-making practice that is a true reflection of my soul, redefining success over and over again. I BELIEVE THAT I HAVE A COLLECTION OF UNIQUE AND VALUABLE EXPERIENCES THAT I’VE GATHERED OVER THE YEARS. I’ve self-navigated my way through so many different things in the art biz world! How to go from a novice doodler to a professional illustrator, how to make and design my own line of products (with little to no tech skills), how to make a website, how to outsource help, find suppliers, apply and get accepted into high-end craft shows, farmers markets, trade shows, make a killer booth display, pitch my art and products to stores and companies. How to find good classes to take, connect with artist support groups. I’ve screen-printed thousands of t-shirts and towels in my spare bedroom, I’ve hand-sewed and stuffed more pillows than I can remember. I’ve traveled halfway across the country to teach at an art retreat. I got started with selling my art and products as consignment then moved to wholesale. I’ve made and sold large original paintings, ceramic sculptures, painted murals, participated in gallery events. I’ve shipped a huge amount of packages from my home studio, and figured out the best ways to do that. I’ve partnered with a fulfillment/distribution center to manage some of my product line and wholesale, I’ve organized art markets, a city-wide Open Studio, and curated multiple different kinds of artist events. I opened a small studio/gallery/gift shop space that carries exclusively my art and products, and figured out how to launch something like that off the ground. I’ve streamlined what I make and do over the years to fit with the lifestyle I want to live, and support the integrity of the art and products I want to sell. It’s an ongoing cycle! Always learning, always curious, always problem-solving. Running a business is like one huge creative adventure! I see a surge of new artists and creatives out there on the internet, more than ever right now. So many of us are in a place where we are ready to follow our dreams. No more excuses! Life is too short.
I’m super passionate about sharing my knowledge and experiences with others who have similar aspirations, but are feeling lost. I know how overwhelming it can be when you’re first starting out, and how intimidating asking questions can be. I WANT TO INVITE YOU INTO THIS SAFE SPACE TO ASK ME ALL YOUR QUESTIONS, JUDGMENT-FREE. I’ve been where you’re sitting. I know how scary it is to dive into the unknown. I know what it feels like to be clueless about how to get from point A to point B. By meeting with me 1:1 for a phone mentoring session I’ll share with you my advice, tailored to your own story. As artists, we all come into this line of work from such unique places. No two stories are the same. My hope is to give you more clarity, tips, inspiration, and motivation to continue on your own unique path so you too can have a thriving and fulfilling career with your art. If you connect with what I do, I’d love to talk! After purchasing this listing, you will receive an email with a few questions to help me prepare for our chat. Then we can arrange a time to hop on the phone. I try my best to schedule our call within 1-2 weeks of your purchase, but please note that depending on the time of year and my current workload that timeframe can vary. Please feel free to reach out with any questions before you purchase, to decide if this 1:1 chat is the right choice for you, [email protected]. Warmly, Becky
